Lower Back, Glutes/Hip and Hamstrings Pain

Overview
Lower back, hip, and hamstring discomfort often emerge together due to pelvic misalignment, muscular weakness, fascia tightness, or neural tension. This pattern is especially common among people who sit at work, lift heavy loads, or endure repetitive athletic strain.
Our treatment targets the entire posterior chain-from the lumbar spine down through the glutes and hamstrings-to restore strength, flexibility, and coordinated movement.
During the session
- Every body tells a different story, even if the pain feels similar.
- We’ll start by releasing tension where it shows up: maybe in your glutes, lower back, or deep in the hip rotators. If movement feels blocked, we create space-sometimes through deep pressure, sometimes through stillness.
- Tight hamstrings might not need to be “stretched,” but unloaded by easing pressure from the pelvis or surrounding tissues. We might use several techniques which include myofascial release, trigger point release, or guided movements to help your body let go, layer by layer.
- Throughout the session, we check in with you: "Are you moving more freely? Is your breath deeper? Has something shifted?". Because the goal isn’t just about pain relief, it is restoring flow and connection in how your body moves.
Treatment Recommendations
We offer flexible session lengths and program plans tailored to your needs:
- 30 minutes: Ideal for focused work on one region (e.g., a tight hamstring knot or glute referral point)
- 60 minutes: Recommended when both low back and hips are involved, allowing integrated release and alignment work
- 90 minutes: Best for chronic or complex issues spanning lower back, glutes, and hamstrings, requiring deeper tissue engagement
Your therapist will recommend a duration based on mobility loss, severity, and activity goals. Most shoulder conditions benefit from weekly sessions for 3-6 weeks, followed by reassessment and corrective home care support.
